National Service Scheme (NSS)

The objectives of NSS are :

• Understand the community in which they work & understand themselves in relation to their community.
• Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving.
• Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.
• Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.
• Develop capacity to meet emergencies, natural disasters, practice national integration and social harmony.
• Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility and utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions for individual and community problems.

NSS Outcome

• Introduce urban students to rural life by living in contact with the community in whose midst their institution is located.
• Better understanding and appreciation of the problems of the society and Encourage Community participation.
• Develop constructive linkage between the campus and the community by supplementing technical education with social and economic reconstruction of the country.
• Improve the quality of educated manpower by fostering social responsibility.
• Involvement in the tasks of national development.
• Raising society to a higher material and moral level by preparing students for final dedication in the service of nation and making campus relevant to the needs of the community.
