The basic objective of the 3-year BSc Hospitality Studies programme is to provide a steady stream of competent young professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to occupy key operational positions in the hospitality industry. The program involves 20 weeks of Industrial Exposure Training in the second year of the course. Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Studies is a 3-year full time graduation course, the eligibility for which is a Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) qualification with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (44.5% to 44.99%) may be rounded of to 45% (In case of Reserved Category 40% marks in aggregate) (39.5% to 39.99% and may be rounded off to 40%) marks in any stream and No entrance exam. The program is spread over 3 years, divided into 6 semesters of six months each. Admission to the course in various recognized universities is based on entrance tests held followed by an interview, besides taking the 12th marks into consideration, to judge the eligibility of the candidate seeking admission. The course is best suited for those who are seeking a career in the hospitality and services sector. A hospitality studies student will be taught the process of dealing in reception and treatment of guests.
