B.Sc. in Interdisciplinary (Microbiology):
B.Sc. in Microbiology is a 3-year undergraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in the field of microbiology. This course provides an understanding of the structure and functioning of microorganisms, their role in disease, and how they can be used for biotechnology applications. The syllabus includes topics such as cell biology, genetics, immunology, molecular biology, microbial physiology and ecology, pathogenic microorganisms, food microbiology, and industrial microbiology.
Candidates must have completed Class 12 or the equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their required subjects in order to be eligible for the BSc Microbiology program. The results of the Class 12th are used to determine a candidate's eligibility for BSc Microbiology Entrance in 2023. Thakur Shyamnarayan Degree College is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It offers Three Year integrated course in Science, Leading to Interdisciplinary B.Sc., Degree in Microbiology awarded by the University of Mumbai. Students aspiring to purse the course need to have completed the 10+2 level of education Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects at H.Sc. level. Minimum aggregate score of 50% at the level. Instead of Biology, one may even have had Zoology or Botany as one of the main subjects of study.
